Sprawling across the central part of the Balkan Peninsula in south-eastern Europe, the landlocked nation of Serbia is a tourist’s delight. As a century-old steel enterprise, Smederevo Steel Plant is located in Smederevo, Serbia, once known as “the pride of Serbia”. In 2016, HBIS Group Co., Ltd. purchased the Smederevo Steel Plant and established the HBIS GROUP Serbia Iron & Steel LLC, Belgrade (HBIS Serbia), which become a model for international production capacity cooperation and a critical project of the “Belt and Road” construction.

The sintering flue gas treatment project of HBIS Serbia has attracted the attention of many environmental protection equipment suppliers, and the competition for the project is extremely fierce. After careful consideration and scientific comparison, Lonjing stands out and won the 180m² sintering flue gas desulphurization and dust-removal project. Lonjing D-MEC technology has been extended to Europe, contributing to the environmental management of the "Belt and Road".

On 12th May 2022, the project successfully completed the 72-hour continuous trial run and obtained the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC). After putting it into operation, the system ran stably with a clean and transparent stack outlet, no wastewater was generated, and the outlet SO₂ emission was lower than 35mg/Nm³ and dust lower than 10mg/Nm³, which was significantly below the technical agreement limits.

In addition to Serbia, Lonjing D-MEC+ technology has been successfully exported to Brazil, India, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and other countries, delivering excellent and customized Chinese solutions to Europe and around the world!
